To call Kyrgyzstan from United Kingdom, dial:
00 - 996 - Area Code - Land Phone Number
00 - 996 - 9 Digit Mobile Number

My student, my last major bit of work in the UK, went home on Monday.  Then it was help what do I need to do, get the visa, get some money, pack pack pack.  I had not expected to feel so emotional, or to get so much support fantastic support as the news has leaked out, or to find others needing lots of support or were  being doubly difficult this week of all weeks.  First I had problems with finding suitable insurance, then the airline ticket would not accept my visa card so I couldn't buy the ticket, then suddenly I had to get a visa before I could travel.  On top of which the printer has been playing up and the the toilet has also been blocked all week all of which could have been trying to tell me something but I have just tried to emulate the loo and block it all out.    I am trying to calm  and remind myself I can do this I can do this and hope that my body will fall into line.
packing in progress

It has been a wonderful summer for I think almost all of us. After the busy weeks from May to July when I was literally working it was so nice just to take life at a more normal pace, to go out see friends, go to the theatre, have tea,  have a couple of days off and just enjoy the sun.  Now off into the unknown.  Which reminds me I had better try printing off the ticket before I forget.

This time tomorrow.

I bought this flat to not be in this flat, so whilst I could not do that for reasons shown below,  there is more than one way to do that.

For the last few months I have been incredibly lucky: having my son come home, has been wonderful.  I sometimes wish in the debate about us needing more housing in this country that alternatives could be explored instead.  Why is it felt that everyone must have their own place?  Having my son come home seems sensible and logical. However, it also meant I couldn't just finally get the new place sorted and ready to rent out or could I?  What if he was to stay in the flat and I just go and so it is with any luck and more than a bit of lots of trying to stay calm that I hope to get on a plane tomorrow and be out of here.  Is that why there are a lot of people in Russia checking out this blog?

Just a little reminder.

Traffic news.

Why did a whole lot of people in Russia look at this blog yesterday?

Bested again?

My contact with the Legal Ombudsman has left them pissed off with me.  They asked me for evidence. I emailed it them. I clogged up their system as a result!    They were nice enough to speak with me at the start of this process, but they did not think to tell me how I was supposed to get the evidence to them.  The Property Ombudsman takes everything via email, but will not talk with one.   Like the PO, the LO only take physical evidence as evidence. They cannot look at the bigger picture.  The fact that the industry that they are looking at requires people to speak with each other and as a result of those conversations there are tangible outcomes does not come into it.  They are a bit like an online doctor who knows your height, weight, clothes size, but does not see you throwing up in the toilet making a judgement about your eating habits.  Other ombudsmen are allowed a little more elasticity: they are allowed to consider the bigger picture.  But the legal ombudsman and the property ombudsman only want facts, facts, facts, Gradgrind, and boy do they grind me down in their failure as a result to do their job properly.  The Property Ombudsman still has not accurately understood or examined the case I sent to him.  I therefore complained to Lord Best - some kind of overseer - that the PO had failed to do his job properly and in the process had failed to uphold the best standards of the industry (the only grounds upon which I can "appeal" the LO decision) . But Lord Best has, from my point of view, not done his best, so best for me that I get out, while some semblance of hope remains in me.

Talking of PO the other PO has been posting all my mail for the last week to next door. They got back from their holidays today - so I have just had a grand opening.

The Great Western Gromit.

On the trail of Gromit.

Not so solicitous.

Me and the solicitors are shouting at each other in our emails. They definitely do not see, hear or respond correctly to anything that I send them. I have stopped reading their replies as a result and sent in my complaint to the Solicitors Ombudsman.

In the meantime I have only one recourse with the Property Ombudsman and that is to try and speak to his "boss" and say that he has failed to uphold his post by refusing my claim.   I do not know if this will work. But if it does not then, the estate agent has been given permission by industry standards to "lie" to sell.

Meanwhile it looks like both the flat below and my old house have just been sold by the same Estate Agent!
